With Whom Do We Walk?

With Whom Do We Walk?
Weekly Devotionals Motivated By Grace

John 6:66, "From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with Him."

Back in Jesus' day, there were MANY disciples that followed Jesus, and they followed Him for a great many reasons. Some followed Him because He was the new kid on the block. Some followed Him because they were hungry and needed fed. Others liked the hype and excitement produced whenever He performed miracles, as they felt He was a walking "Ripley's Believe It Or Not!" And yet others followed Him in hopes that they would receive healing in their bodies...

This author doesn't think it was an accident at all that the chapter and verse number of the scripture telling us that upon hearing Jesus say He was the virtual Son of God, that many of the disciples "walked away" from Him, for that truth is a beast in itself.

How many of us have become disciples of Christ, only to come to a place in life to where we say, "No. Jesus cannot be bigger than this. This and that has happened to me, and if there really were a Jesus, He would not have let this happen to me."? Then? ... We "walk away", because we also, do not really believe in our hearts that Jesus is the actual Son of God? We do not believe Jesus and His Father God is really bigger than anything we can face here on this earth... Was the Jesus we were looking for a "deliverer of circumstance" only?

Go and ponder on this today if you have found yourself to be someone that has "walked away" from Christ. Ask yourself "Why have I walked away?". Ask Christ to speak to your heart and if The Holy Spirit does reside in you, may he reveal Himself to you in a very real way.

If you find that The Holy Spirit IS within you? Count it as blessing, for Kings and Queens have died without this Honor of Grace. Then PRAISE Him! That's right! PRAISE Him! You may not 'feel" like praising Him, but doing so will align your "thoughts" to the Truth (Jesus). Then, I can gaurantee, your emotions will follow. You'll begin a process that will "set you free" in the knowledge of the Truth (Jesus).

Realize that "delivery of circumstances" is very different than simply "being removed" from them.
